Young Reggae Boyz move into residential camp

Voice of national Under-17 football coach Andrew Edwards

As they head towards the final round of CONCACAF qualifiers, Jamaica's national Under-17 footballers have started a full time residential camp at the JFF’s Training Centre at the UWI, Mona campus. The camp, which includes 35 players, will run for approximately three months.

Head coach Andrew Edwards told RJR Sports the technical staff is hoping to conduct finishing touches on the players.

“At least so that we can minimize the conversion of goals against us which increases our chances of doing well, so that is primarily among our focus. We also want to improve each of the players technically and tactically,” noted Edwards.

A release from the JFF labelled the camp a huge investment which will include nutritional and medical support as well as training.

The boys' education will also be a major ingredient with the MRC Family School providing daily tutoring.
