Alzheimer's risk prompts Chris Hemsworth to take acting break

Actor Chris Hemsworth is taking a break from acting, following news that he has a heightened risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.

The star of movie blockbuster "Thor" made the discovery after undergoing tests as part of his Disney+ documentary series "Limitless."

Hemsworth will use his time off to focus on taking preventative steps.

Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia and can cause memory problems, confusion and communication issues.

Tests results show that he is 8 and 10 times more likely to develop the disease as he has two copies of the gene from both his parents.

Hemworth's ''Limitless" series sees him undergoing a number of test to explore ways to live longer and healthier.
