Some 80 years since he was first introduced to readers as the most trusty sidekick, Batman's best friend Robin has come out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
The latest issue of comic series DC's Batman: Urban Legends, confirms the Caped Crusader's lovable sidekick, Robin, is queer.
The character Robin, who goes by Drake, is the latest in a run of superheroes to be written as LGBTQ+, including Batwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and most recently at Marvel, Captain America.
DC and Marvel have both started to include more LGBTQ characters in their stories and both released special anthology comics starring queer and trans characters in June to coincide with Pride Month.
