Masicka gearing up to drop summer album

Following the release of his latest single, Tyrant, Def Jam Records' newest signee, Masicka, says he will take summer with a bang by dropping a new album.

The album is yet to be named, and no specific date was given as to when it will be made available to the public.

Up until last week, the song was trending and took the number one spot on every platform in Jamaica.

The viewership of the accompanying music video is almost 2 million.

The Update artist's debut album 438, released in December 2021, is the most streamed album by a male dancehall artist in the US that was released during the 12-month period of 2022.

438's success on Apple Music in Jamaica and Masicka's YouTube singles and music videos positioned the Ultimate singer to be signed to a major US record label company, DefJam.

The album debuted at number two on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and spent a total of seven weeks on the chart, an achievement surpassed only by top streaming artists Shenseea and Koffee among recent albums by Jamaicans.
