Police say Abihail Myrie still considered missing until she reports to them in person

Abihail Myrie, the daughter of reggae and dancehall artiste Buju Banton, is being urged to physically report to the police.

The appeal was made following a missing person's report filed with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

The Corporate Communications Unit of the JCF issued a release on Tuesday classifying Miss Myrie as a missing person. It said she had not been seen or heard from since Saturday.

Later on Tuesday, the 21-year-old took to social media to deny the claim.

Her attorney, Maurice McCurdy, also issued a statement assuring the public that Miss Myrie was not missing.

However, Dennis Brooks, Senior Communications Strategist for the JCF, has said from a law enforcement perspective, Miss Myrie will be classified missing until she appears in person.
