The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) says it will be making changes to its operations as it looks to meet new industry standard requirements.

BSJ Executive Director Velton Gooden says the re-alignment will include new testing and standard frameworks.

"We will be launching a number of new as also revised standards focusing on some of the very important commodities like rice, fuel, a standard for solar panels, just to name a few. Expect expanded testing service, expect improved turnaround times in the services that we will offer, and expect a closer collaboration between us and our partnering regulatory agency, including the CAC (Consumer Affairs Commission)," he announced.

Mr. Gooden was speaking at the launch of the BSJ's new 'Committed to Quality and Standards' campaign on Wednesday.
