Caribbean Airlines fails to reach agreement with pilots

Caribbean Airlines has failed to reach an agreement with the Trinidad & Tobago Pilots Association.

The parties have been engaged in negotiations to reach a collective agreement for pilots from the period September 1, 2015, to August 31, 2018.

CAL says it engaged the pilots association on November 22 regarding the ongoing negotiations, but in light of what it described as challenges faced in reaching a mutually agreeable resolution, the airline has decided to engage the processes under the Industrial Relations Act of Trinidad & Tobago.

The airline says the matter has been reported to the Minister of Labour.

On August 20, 2023, the Industrial Court issued an injunction against the association, preventing pilots from taking industrial action.
