Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness says Finance Minister Fayval Williams will tell the country when the 20 per cent duty-free concessions on pick-up trucks used by farmers will be extended to other vehicles used in the agriculture sector.
The move is part of efforts to boost the sector which declined by a cumulative 25 per cent during the third and fourth quarters of last year.
The agriculture sector directly employs 250 thousand people and contributes eight per cent of GDP.
Another 320 thousand are indirectly employed to the sector, with a contribution of 18 per cent of GDP, when combined with agro processing.
