Gov't seeking to raise $700 million through 182-day treasury bill

 
The government of Jamaica says on May 7 it will seek to borrow $700 million from investors in order to help fund this year's budget. 
 
Successful investors will be issued with a 182-day treasury bill for this money, and they can lend as little as $5,000. 
 
The interest on the instrument which will be paid on November 7 will be taxable at a rate of 25%.
