Jamaica to see an increase in cruise ship arrivals

Jamaica is likely to see an uptick in the number of  cruise-ships docking at its ports before the end of  the year.

This is according to the Chief  Executive Officer of  the Port Authority of  Jamaica, Professor Gordon Shirley - who revealed that the island's major ports could start seeing ships by November.

Professor Shirley has expressed confidence Jamaica will again be a preferred cruise destination once COVID-19 numbers are curtailed.

On August 16 the Carnival Sunrise docked at the Ocho Rios Pier in St Ann, as cruise ships returned to the island fter an almost 17 month absence due to the pandemic.

The ship transported more than 3,000 passengers.
