On the second day of trading for the new year, the JSE Index suffered a 2.5 per cent loss, pushing the combined index up to 8,910 points.
This follows a number of global jitters impacting inflation.
The Main Index fell by 989 points, while the Junior Market index declined by 47 points.
Leading the advancers were: Jamaica Public Service Company, Stanley Motta, Palace Amusement, Lasco Financial Services, and Consolidated Bakeries.
The decliners were led by: Main Event Entertainment Group, iCreate Jamaica, Indies Pharma Jamaica, Portland JSX, and Radio Jamaica.
