One analyst has sought to assure investors, saying they need not worry about declines in the local stock market.
Dan Theoc, Senior Vice President for Investment Banking at Mayberry, says the drop is a continuation of pandemic lows, and not the result of a specific adverse event.
According to Mr Theoc, now is in fact the time to invest.
The Jamaica Stock Exchange's combined index ended last week down 2.67 per cent.
The bulk of that was registered on Monday, with the market falling by 2.66 per cent, wiping out millions of dollars.
