Reggae Month 2021 is a go but in this pandemic era, it will take a virtual format.
Reggae Month was officially declared by the government in February 2008 and was done to highlight and celebrate the impact of the musical genre on the country's social, cultural, and economic development.
Additionally, the birthdays of late reggae music icons Dennis Brown and Robert Nesta Marley are commemorated during the month of February.
Organizers are expected to announce the launch date and the theme in short order.
They are also fine tuning the execution of the events which are expected to come at a higher cost.
In 2018, Reggae was recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage deemed worthy of protection and promotion.
