Shipping costs are expected to return to pre-pandemic levels by early next year.
President of the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association John Mahfood has confirmed that freight charges have already seen declines, especially over the last two months.
Mr. Mahfood, who was delivering the latest Fair Trading Commission's Shirley Playfair Lecture, added however that supply chain and manufacturing issues are still plaguing companies, with many finding it difficult to get some products from original suppliers.
He challenged business operators to be open to changing source markets and forging stronger relationships with suppliers which could help improve the movement of goods.
