The JSE Index advanced by 129 points to close at 330,873 points on Tuesday, while the Junior Market Index declined by 3 points to close at 3,699 points.
Shares in Wigton Energy were most widely traded, accounting for 83 per cent of all shares traded.
The winners were led by First Rock Real Estate Investments USD share, Productive Business Solutions USD share, JMMB 7.15 per cent preference share, Access Financial Services and Indies Pharma.
Declining shares were led by Regency Petroleum, Berger, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy, Palace Amusement and JFP.
Fifteen stocks traded firm.
