US markets closed higher on Friday

US markets closed higher again on Friday on the jump in the stock prices of Nvidia; Meta Platforms; Tesla and Alphabet.

The markets were responding as well to the comment by US President Donald Trump that he would consider it a victory if US tariffs on the rest of the world, excluding China, ended up at between 20 per cent and 50 per cent a year from now.

He insisted however that the tariff on China would not be reduced unless the country gave the US "something."

European and Asia Pacific markets also traded higher on positive corporate earnings reports as well as on a less confrontational approach by the USA to the trade talks with China.
