11 children among COVID-19 deaths in Jamaica

COVID-19 has claimed the lives of eleven children and adolescents in Jamaica.
 
Three of the children were below ten years old while the other eight deaths were in children 10 to 19 years old. 
 
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jacquiline Bisasor McKenzie made the disclosure during a media briefing on Thursday as she gave an update on child COVID-19 cases.  
 
Dr. Bisasor McKenzie said coronavirus cases in the zero to nine age group represented 5.3 per cent of all confirmed cases, while 7.7 per cent of cases occurred in children 10 to 19 years.
