Three days after the killing of Tabby Diamond, the lead singer of the legendary reggae trio the Mighty Diamonds, the group has lost another member.

Fitzroy 'Bunny' Simpson, the original member of the group, passed away on Friday.

Radio Jamaica News was informed that Mr. Simpson, who previously suffered a stroke, fell ill at home.

He was taken to hospital where he died.

Lloyd 'Judge' Ferguson is now the only remaining member of the Mighty Diamonds, which was formed in 1969.

Musician Frankie Campbell called Bunny Diamond's death "tragic and sad", adding that it is another blow to the reggae industry.

Tabby Diamond and another man were killed about 9:40 Tuesday night when a gunman opened fire on a group outside a shop on McKinley Crescent in the St. Andrew South Police Division.

Two men and a woman were also shot.

Each member of the Mighty Diamonds had received the national honour of Order of Distinction (Officer Class) last year.

The group is known for hits such as Have Mercy, Pass the Kutchie, and I Need a Roof.
