Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney says he will meet US President Donald Trump on Tuesday in Washington DC.
He made the announcement during his first public appearance since his Liberal Party won a fourth term in Canada's federal election early this week.
His election campaign focused on standing up to Trump's tariff plans and threats to make Canada the 51st US state, which Carney said will never happen.
Canada's new cabinet will be sworn in during the week of May 12.
