Ackera Nugent was the best placed Jamaican at the opening day of the third leg of the Grand Slam Track in Philadelphia. Nugent topped the women's 100m hurdles, with a time of 12.44 seconds, outpacing Tia Jones 12.60 seconds and compatriot Megan Tapper 12.66s. World champion Danielle Williams finished seventh in 12.84 seconds.
In the women's 400m hurdles Andrenette Knight secured third place with a time of 54.56 seconds, while Rushell Clayton finished fifth in 55.14 seconds.
The US pair of Anna Cockrell Jasmine Jones took the top two spots in 54.04 and 54.65 seconds respectively.
On the men's side, Assinie Wilson set a personal best in the 400m hurdles, finishing sixth in 49.68 seconds, behind winner Alison Dos Santos of Brazil 48.11 seconds.
In the men's 200m, Bryan Levell finished sixth in 20.63 seconds. Kenny Bednarek of the US took the top spot with a time of 19.95 seconds, followed by Zharnel Hughes.
