A Canadian woman is behind bars following a multi-million dollar cocaine bust at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.
According to a report from the police, 26 year old Nika Salazar-Johnson, a supermarket clerk of Hamilton, Ontario, was held on Wednesday in connection with the seizure of 1.5 kilograms of cocaine.
She has been charged with breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
It's reported that Salazar-Johnson arrived at Norman Manley International about 10 am and attempted to board a flight to Toronto.
She was interviewed by narcotics police and during a search was found with cocaine valued at US$75 thousand or more than J$10 million
Salazar-Johnson is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on March 31.
