National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang is dismissing suggestions that content creators are being targeted by criminals.
His comment comes after the killing of two Tiktokers in recent weeks while live streaming.
The latest incident occurred Friday night when a social media personality was shot and killed in Montego Bay.
He has been identified as Marvin Samuels from Rose Heights who went by the handle "41 BussHead" on TikTok.
Dr Chang told Radio Jamaica News that he had taken note of the incidents, but he said he didn't believe the deadly attacks on the two popular content creators were part of a co-ordinated attempt by criminals to silence free speech.
The Minister said he was aware of issues that could arise from the case, given one of Mr Samuels's reported connections.
