Classes were suspended at Seaside Primary and neighbouring Happy Grove High School in East Portland on Wednesday morning due to low turnout caused by the inclement weather.
The administration at Seaside Primary said parents returned for their children after heavy rain started.
A decision was then made by the board to close the school.
St. Andrew
Mountain View Primary in St. Andrew has also suspended classes for the day.
The school dismissed students at 12:40 p.m.
Administrators said this is due to heavy rainfall and fears for students who have to traverse lower Mountain View Avenue which is flooded.
Parents are being asked to pick up their children.
