Three members of the Cuban National Football team who were accused of sexually assaulting an American tourist in Montego Bay, St James have been released from police custody.
They were released yesterday based on an order from a Magistrate.The Magistrate stated that there was insufficient evidence to continue their detention. Investigators were awaiting the results of DNA tests.
The Cubans were taken into custody last week, following allegations that they assaulted the tourist in a bathroom at a hotel. The men, who denied the allegations, were placed on an identification parade on April 2, but were not pointed out.
