Maintenance workers at the National Water Commission (NWC) have agreed to resume their duties, effective immediately, following a meeting with the management on Tuesday morning.
Acting corporate communications manager at NWC, Delano Williams, said some members of the team have been dispatched to disrupted systems that were awaiting maintenance support.
Mr. Williams said the issues of concern to the technical staff that led to them taking industrial action continue to be discussed.
Radio Jamaica News was also informed that the management of the NWC met on Tuesday with the five unions representing the disgruntled workers.
The workers are contending that their positions were not properly evaluated under the public sector compensation review scheme, resulting in them being rated too low.
