Dominican Republic: Plane crashes near Puerto Plata, two people killed

Two men died when their small plane crashed near Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic on Saturday.

Josenilton Vasconcelos, 57 years old and a native of Brazil, has been identified as one of the people who lost their lives when the small plane in which he was traveling in, crashed near the Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata on Saturday.

Another man, 33-year-old Ofinis Hernández Plasencia, an American citizen originally from the Dominican Republic, died while receiving medical attention.

The Cessna aircraft had left the Opa-Locka airport in Florida bound for Puerto Plata Airport, where it crashed on a farm about 8 kilometers from the airport.
