Guyana President, Dr Irfaan Ali, says his administration is currently engaging the United States on the threats of sanctions for countries utilising Cuban labour.
President Ali says conversations are being pursued through official channels.
According to the Guyanese President, all foreign workers in his country, despite their country of origin, fall under the same local and international labour laws.
He says all contracts and terms of employment are aligned with international standards
President Ali says the US has been asked to provide any particular information or any specific issue that needs addressing as both countries have a close working relationship.
