Janet Grayson, President of the University of Technology Administrative Staff Association
President of the University of Technology Academic Staff Association, Janet Grayson says there has been movement in discussions relating to money owed under the public sector compensation review.
Last month there was a breakdown in talks over the Government's failure to sign off on a date for outstanding disbursements under Compensation Review Programme.
Finance Minister Fayval Williams, in her budget presentation last week, announced that there was money in the budget to settle ssues arising at UTECH.
But Ms Grayson says the money referred to by the Minister were already agreed to in talks held with former Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke and was not intended to settle the outstanding matters.
She says subsequent talks were held, during which the stakeholders were able to arrive at a consensus.
According to Ms Grayson, while the major outstanding issues have been settled, there are some lingering matters that will form part of discussions for the new wage cycle.
