A judge in Donald Trump's hush money trial found that the former president violated a gag order nine times, fining him $9,000.
The judge has also warned that he could be jailed for further offences.
The former president is accused of trying to cover up a US$130,000 payment to adult film actress, Stormy Daniels before he won the 2016 election, which prosecutors say was election interference.
He has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records and denies any sexual encounter with Ms. Daniels.
