The fire destroyed the roof of a house in Beverly Hills.
Fire damaged a house on Montclair Drive in Beverly Hills, St. Andrew on Monday afternoon.
The fire reportedly started as a result of burning to clear land in the nearby Karachi community.
Beverly Hills resident Colette Chen, told Radio Jamaica's Beyond the Headlines that ember from that fire apparently caught a neighbour's house and ignited, destroying the roof.
She said three fire trucks responded to the blaze, which is now under control.
Firefighters are still on the scene.
Ms. Chen urged the authorities to clamp down on the issue of burning to clear land.
