Five killed in Kingston Western in 24 hours

The sister of Tyrone Brown, who was killed in Jones Town, and SSP Stephanie Lindsay, Communication Officer for the JCF
 
Second Street in Trench Town was the scene of the fifth murder in the Kingston Western police division in less than 24 hours.
 
Tyrone Brown, 25, a resident of Love Street in Jones Town, was fatally shot shortly after 8 o'clock Tuesday morning.
 
Mr. Brown's sister, irate at his killing, told Radio Jamaica News her brother was mentally ill. 
 
In addition to Mr. Brown's murder, the police are probing the killing of 24-year-old Janelle Thomas and her 29-year-old brother Omar Jarrett at their house on Penn Street, Jones Town.
 
The incident happened shortly before 10 o'clock Monday night.
 
Four hours earlier, three men were shot on Collie Smith Drive.
 
They were were walking about 5:15, when they were shot by passengers in a car.
 
Two of them died.
 
The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Tyree Montaque and 25-year-old Steven Beckles.
 
Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, Communication Officer for the Jamaica Constabulary Force, said investigators are following leads in some of the killings. 
 
The police believe some of the murders are reprisals attacks.
