Gunshots were fired a short while ago during protests in Darliston, Westmoreland as residents continue to block entrances to the area to highlight deplorable road conditions.
The gunfire started moments after the arrival of the Member of Parliament, Daniel Lawrence, who went to the community to address the protesters.
Radio Jamaica's correspondent Christopher Plummer was in the area and sent a dramatic clip of gunshots ringing out in the community.
On Monday morning, motorists and residents blocked all the roads which lead to Darliston.
The protest affected students and people going to work.
Some students were seen walking miles to get to school as taxi operators withdrew service.
