INDECOM probing police shooting of eight year old in St. Andrew

A member of the Police Federation is under investigation by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) following the shooting of an eight year old boy on the weekend.

The incident happened on Saturday at a house in St. Andrew, according to Makiedah Messam, INDECOM's director for the Eastern Region.

Ms Messam told Radio Jamaica News that the child, who is in serious condition, underwent surgery on Monday.

It's reported that on Saturday afternoon, the policeman was at a house when the child was accidentally shot.

Ms Messam said the weapon has been seized and the policeman served notice to appear at INDECOM's head office this week for questioning.
