The Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions (JCTU) says it has now received the additional documents with details it requested of the public sector compensation review.
JCTU President Helene Davis Whyte met on Monday with Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke.
"So now we have the salary ranges for each of the salary bands that they are proposing and we now also have concrete information as to how they propose the various groups will convert into this new 16-band salary scale," the union president revealed.
Mrs Davis Whyte said the unions will be going through the information to ensure that their members will not be at a disadvantage.
She said employees want to know that they will receive the full value of the allowances that will be absorbed into their salaries.
"We have a commitment from the minister that, in terms of communication, he will ensure that whatever is communicated is something that would have been discussed and agreed with the union," she added.
Another meeting is to be held with the Minister of Finance in two weeks and the union is hoping to conclude talks as quickly as possible.
The Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA), which has raised concern about the proposed ending of the Duty Concession Benefit on June 30, is meeting today (Tuesday) with Dr. Clarke.
