An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 rattled parts of Barbados on Tuesday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The Trinidad-based University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre said the quake occurred at 11:26 a.m. (local time) and was felt 24 kilometres southwest of the capital, Bridgetown.
The quake was also felt 160 km east of Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and 179 km southeast of Castries in St. Lucia.
It had a depth of 25.8 km and the authorities in Barbados said that there is "no tsunami threat from this earthquake to Barbados based on available data".
