Reports are that the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle was of one more than 41,000 persons who made a formal complaint about broadcaster Piers Morgan's comments about her mental health.
On Monday's edition of "Good Morning Britain," Morgan questioned whether the Duchess was being truthful about having suicidal thoughts.
His comments sparked a huge controversy in Britain, and he was rebuked by mental health charity, Mind.
Markle's complaint is said to concern the impact Morgan's claims could have on others and how it could degrade the seriousness of mental health issues.
After announcing his departure from the morning show on Tuesday, Morgan said that he still did not believe Markle.
Boycott royal family?
Human rights activist and one of the Black Lives Matter movement's co-founders, Opal Tometi, is calling for a royal family boycott.
Tometi took to Twitter to show support for Meghan after her and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey aired on Sunday.
Questions of racism were raised after the couple revealed that a member of the royal family had asked about what colour they thought their baby would be.
The royal family has since responded in a statement saying those claims are "concerning" and will be privately addressed by the family.
Thomas Markle reacts
Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, also reacted to the interview on Tuesday's episode of Good Morning Britain.
He admitted that he has not communicated with his daughter in more than four years, and said he does not believe the royal family is racist.
Mr. Markle and his daughter have had a strained relationship, which worsened after he spoke to UK tabloids ahead of Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry.
On Tuesday, he emphasized he will only stop talking to the press if Meghan and Harry talk to him.
