The Ministry of Education & Youth plans to change how funding is provided for educational institutions.
The Ministry currently provides a subvention of $17,000 to $19,000 per student to the schools but the Association of Principals of Secondary Schools has called for the allocation to be increased to effectively cover the true coast of educating each child.
Acting Chief Education Officer Dr Kasan Troupe, in response, said there will be consultations before a formula is agreed on for the restructuring of the grants.
