The Ministry of Labour & Social Security has confirmed that NIS pensioners, paid by direct deposit, have started to receive their payments that were due on March 15.
Pensioners had contacted Radio Jamaica News to query the delay in the payments.
The ministry says the delay was due to "system issues."
Audrey Deer Williams, Chief Technical Director with responsibility for the Social Security Division, said pensioners began receiving the payments Monday morning.
