Person of interest detained in relation to attack on security guards in Portmore

St. Catherine South Police has detained a person of interest who they believe can assist in the investigation into Monday's attack on three security guards at Portmore Pines.
 
The guards, employed to Beryllium, were delivering cash to the JN Bank branch when they were shot and robbed.
 
One guard was killed.
 
Senior Superintendent Christopher Phillips, Commanding Officer for the St. Catherine South Division, said the man was taken into custody during an operation on Hellshire Beach. 
 
He was held with an illegal firearm.
 
SSP Phillips said he is satisfied with the pace at which the investigation is progressing.
