Radio Jamaica News has been informed that the police have identified the suspect involved in the murder of veteran journalist Barbara Gayle and have conducted a series of raids in Portmore, St. Catherine to capture him.
The cops made a breakthrough in the case on Wednesday morning when they recovered Ms. Gayle's stolen motor vehicle.
The Mercedes Benz was found abandoned in bushes along the Dyke Road in Portmore.
Bloodstains were found inside the vehicle.
Radio Jamaica News was informed that detectives have stepped up their search for the suspect who is said to be a resident of Gregory Park in the parish.
The body of Ms. Gayle was found with multiple stab wounds at her home in the gated community of Caymanas Country Club Estate on Tuesday.
Her cell phone was also stolen by her killer.
