The St. Andrew South Police have increased their presence in the Waterhouse community following a flare-up of violence.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Damion Manderson, acting head of the St. Andrew South Police Division, told Radio Jamaica News that rival gangs from Balcombe Drive and 440 Drive have been trading bullets, leading to the deaths of several people.

The police on Monday released the names of 12 persons of interest.

They include: Phebian Burke, otherwise called 'Shane' or 'Bus It'; Gregory 'Harry' Henderson, a 51-year-old electrician from Balcombe Drive, Kingston; 37-year-old Ryan Ankle, otherwise called 'Dean', of Balcombe Drive; 33-year-old Fabian Murphy, also known as 'Baby Chow', of 440 Drive; and 35-year-old Andre Hoffman, also known as 'Likkleman' or 'Red Man', of 440 Drive.

Others listed include Theodore Wauchope, otherwise called 'Changi' or 'Zidan'; Shaquille Slater; as well as men known only by their aliases -  'Frassman', 'Evil', 'Bashy', Robbin, also known as 'Rhino, and Mahale, otherwise called 'Razor', who frequents the Just Cool area of Waterhouse.

DSP Manderson said the Balcombe Drive and 440 Drive areas have been plagued with increasing gang activities over the last four to six weeks, and the police believe the men listed can help with their investigations.

"We're asking for them to turn themselves into the police, come and speak with us. Come with a pastor, come with your lawyer if you desire, come with your mother, your father, whatever, but we need to speak with these individuals as we believe they can assist us with our investigation, and to bring calm and peace to that part of Waterhouse," he urged.
