Portland businessman Everton McDonald, who is charged in connection with the murder of his wife, was remanded Thursday when he appeared before the St. Andrew Parish Court.
Mr. McDonald's attorney, Bert Samuels, told Radio Jamaica News that a bail hearing is scheduled for September 18.
A second defendant in the case, 30 year old Astor Barnes of Epsom, St, Mary, was also remanded.
The third accused, 56 year old fisherman Denvalyn Minott, is to appear in court at a later date.
Prosecutors have been given until September 8, to hand over statements to the defence.
The three men were charged last week with the murder 32 year old Tonia McDonald.
Mrs McDonald's body was found in a burnt out car in Sherwood Forest on July 20.
Following the arrest of Mr. McDonald, the police said they were reviewing the May 2009 killing of his first wife, Merlene.
She was fatally shot outside her house in Boundbrook, Portland.
