Probe launched into killing of St. Elizabeth couple

The police are probing the killing of  a common-law couple at their home in Spring Park in Black River, St. Elizabeth.

The bodies of  34 year old labourer Jovaughn Watson and 22 year old bartender Rasheen Bent were found early yesterday shortly after gunshots were heard.

When the police arrived they found the back door to the couple's house had been kicked in.

 Bent's body which had bullet wounds was found in the bedroom, while Watson who was found suffering from bullet wounds was taken to the Black River Hospital but later died.

Investigators have not established a motive for the deadly attack.

Radio Jamaica News was informed that Mr Watson was before the St Elizabeth Circuit Court on a charge of  illegal possession of  a firearm, shooting with intent and wounding with intent.
