Pump attendant's murder could be linked to 'gangster' relative, police say

Investigators are trying to determine whether Tuesday's fatal shooting of a female pump attendant at the Petcom gas station on Passagefort Drive in Portmore, St. Catherine is linked to a relative of the deceased.

Chevelle Lewis, 31, who was a mother of two and a resident of Windsor Heights in Central Village, St. Catherine, was serving petrol to a customer Tuesday afternoon when she was shot by one of two men travelling on a motorcycle.

The men escaped.

Investigators say the deceased woman is the relative of an alleged gangster of Windsor Heights, Central Village, St. Catherine.

Senior Superintendent Christopher Phillips, head of the St. Catherine South Police, told Radio Jamaica News that detectives are still gathering information on the case.
