Voting is yet to take place on the proposed merger between Radio Jamaica and the Gleaner.
The RJR Group Emergency General Meeting is now underway at the Douglas Orane Auditorium at Wolmer's Boys School.
Shareholders are currently posing questions to RJR Group Chairman Lester Spaulding on a range of issues, including the value of their shares, the merits of the deal, and ideas on how best to make the deal work.
Spaulding told shareholders that there were 211 proxies registered.
Checks by RJR News revealed that approximately 145 shareholders are registered for the meeting.
RJR Group Managing Director Gary Allen made a detailed presentation on the merits of the deal.
Meanwhile, at the Gleaner's Extraordinary General Meeting, voting got underway shortly before 11:30 a.m., at the neighbouring Wolmer's Girls School.
There are over 200 proxies at the Gleaner EGM, with sources saying the vast majority are in support.
