Schools to get updated furniture for new academic year

The Education Ministry is to begin distribution of furniture to schools before the end of this month.
 
Minister Fayval Williams says thousands of pieces of furniture for teachers and students are being prepared for distribution before the start of the new school year.
 
The Education Minister says a number of schools are engaging in the construction of furniture. 
 
"We expect that Brown's Town High School will deliver 600 students desk and chairs by July 15th, another 600 pieces by August 15th. Vere Tech will provide a thousand pieces by July 15th as well," she said.
 
By August 15, Muschett High and Alphansus Davis High are also expected to provide 1,000 pieces, while Belmont Academy and St. Andrew Technical High will provide 2,500 pieces each. 
 
Additionally, Mrs Williams said 12 schools are engaged in repairing approximately 8,000 pieces of furniture.
