Search continues for 2 Jamaicans and others from overturned boat off Florida coast

The United States Coast Guard continued to search on Sunday for six people, including two Jamaicans, who are lost at sea after their boat apparently capsized several miles off Fort Pierce Inlet near Florida.

The search began Friday morning when a charter boat captain and crew rescued a Jamaican identified as Orville Lyons.

Lyons said six others were with him when their 18-foot vessel overturned Wednesday about 23 miles offshore Fort Pierce.

According to Coast Guard officials, the boat was coming from Bimini in The Bahamas when it capsized.

Lyons told his rescuers that two Bahamians, one of whom was the captain, three Guyanese and two Jamaicans were aboard the vessel.

He said they had planned to go to the US but shortly after dark the first night, the captain finished a bottle of  liquor, became drunk, and fell overboard.
