Tavares-Finson, Neita Robertson appointed Queen's Counsel

Two well known attorneys have been appointed Queen's Counsel. They are Tom Tavares-Finson and Valerie Neita Robertson.     
   
A release issued from King's House on Tuesday, indicated that the Governor General, acting upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister, made the appointment with effect from April 7.
   
The appointment of Queen's Counsel is for members of  the legal fraternity who have distinguished themselves in the field and in service to their country. The appointments are made upon the recommendation of  several bodies, after which they are submitted to the Governor General for his assent.
   
These bodies include the General Legal Council, the Queen’s Council Committee, the Jamaican Bar Association, Cornwall Bar Association, and the Advocates Association of Jamaica.
