Panamanian jockey Ismael Velasquez is back home following a short stint at Caymanas Park. For the past two and a half weeks local racing fans have noticed that the name of Panamanian jockey Ismael Velasquez has not been appearing on the programmes for racing at Caymanas Park.

Radio Jamaica Sports understands that Velasquez has returned home to his family in Panama. Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) chairman Clovis Metcalfe told Radio Jamaica Sports that the temporary jockey’s licence issued to Velasquez had expired, dispelling rumours by racing fans that he had been suspended by the JRC.

The 24 year old Velasquez who plied his trade at Caymanas Park from December 24 last year to March 23 of this year, rode a total of 8 winners.
