A senior Accounts teacher, who was fired by the board of The Queen's School in 2012, has been reinstated.
The teacher, Hubert Smith, resumed teaching at the institution on Monday following a directive to the school from the Ministry of Education.
Mr. Smith had been dismissed by the Board of The Queen's School based on irregularities in the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) School Based Assessment (SBA) papers for some of his students.
He took the matter to the Teachers Appeal Tribunal and was successful.
The school board went to the Supreme Court to challenge the decision of the tribunal, by seeking leave for Judicial Review.
Mr. Smith went to the Court of Appeal to challenge that decision and the Court of Appeal last November agreed with Mr. Smith's attorney, Andre Earle, that based on the breaches, the decision to fire him was null and void.
According to Mr. Smith, the Ministry of Education has agreed to pay him $4.9 million in back pay.
